Bueno by Ueno
Everybody needs a helping hand.
It’s not a charity.
Bueno is about helping good people do good things.
At Ueno, we’ve probably been luckier than most. That’s where Bueno comes in. It’s a way for us to give back.
There’s no big strategy, really. Sometimes people ask us for help. Sometimes we run into people we feel like helping. Sometimes something happens in the world that makes us think we should help.
If there’s philosophy behind Bueno, it’s that we don’t try to solve people’s problems. We’d rather help them solve their problems themselves. It usually works better that way.
Over the last two years, we’ve given more than $100,000 to various people, projects and organizations. Scroll down to find out more about them.

Know Your Rights Camp
Know Your Rights Camp is an organization that advances the liberation of Black and Brown communities through education, self-empowerment and mobilization. We raised $10,000 on Twitter for its COVID-19 Relief Fund, which aids the needs of Black and Brown communities disproportionately affected by coronavirus.

Families Belong Together
We don’t like it when governments do bad things to people, especially children. We ran a fundraiser on our social channels and with our followers raised more than $20K in donations to ActBlue Civics, an organization that supports immigrant families at the border.

Women Talk Design
Women Talk Design is on a mission to see more diverse speakers on stage, by training them and helping organizers find them. We made t-shirts to support their "Designing for Inclusion" event, and sponsored five of their workshop scholarships.

Within
Within is a magazine about leadership for women in design/tech. Its founders believe that women are grossly underrepresented in tech leadership, and we agree. So we donated to their Kickstarter page, and you can too.

Lodged Out
Lodged Out retreats are outdoorsy no-wifi events for makers, doers, adventurers and entrepreneurs, usually in the forest somewhere. They’re great, but not everyone can afford to go. We sponsored a ticket and flights for one to the February 2018 retreat.

La Cocina
Give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. Train him how to become self-sufficient food entrepreneur, you feed him for life. La Cocina, an incubator that focuses on women of color and immigrants, does just that.

Planned Parenthood
Planned Parenthood delivers vital reproductive health care, sex education, and information to millions of people worldwide. The United States Congress recently announced plans to defund the organization, which we thought was a pretty bad idea, frankly.
Go to Planned Parenthood
It's unbelievable that the fundamental human rights Planned Parenthood offers continue to be under attack. Fuck the patriarchy.
